Amity University provides an educational outreach for the local community, focusing on ecosystems and biodiversity. Free educational programs and workshops are held on campus, encouraging participation from the broader community.

Workshop by Scientist of KRISHI VIGYAN KENDRA, Gurugram

Vermicompost:

Vermicompost is indeed beneficial for the conservation of land and soil for several reasons. It helps in Soil Erosion Control, Increased Soil Fertility, Enhanced Water Retention, Reduced Soil Degradation, Decreased Soil Pollution, Minimal Chemical Dependency, Soil Microbial Activity, Enhanced Biodiversity and Sustainable Land Use.

Plantation Drive at AUH Campus was inaugurated with the word of wisdom by Honorable Vice Chancellor of Amity University Haryana, Prof. Dr. P.B. Sharma. He enlightened the students and faculty members, highlighted to raise awareness towards the importance and benefits of environmental conservation and plantation including use of each parts of need plants in our daily life. He discussed the urgency of latest techniques that would benefit human kind by saying “World is looking to us for possible solution”. He also said that we (humans) are spoiling our health by dirty air and water.

3.3 Brief about the address/talk of speakers:

The programme was followed by Major. Gen Bal praised the country’s army, said that all of us should be the part and equal contribution in the progress of the Country.

  • I.S. Thakur, expressed his concerns for environmental restoration, Green Energy, and environmental conservation.
  • The plantation drive have been successfully completed on August 23, 2021 under the supervision of Prof. I.S. Thakur & Dr. Viveak Ballyan.
  • The First plant was planted by our Honorable Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. P.B. Sharma. Under the plantation drive, 150 trees (Neem, Papri, Alstonia (Chitvan) and Jamun) were planted at along the boundary wall from Gate No:- 2 towards Amity Dog Academy total 75 trees were planted.
  • Team members of the Environmental (approx. 20 numbers) and the faculties, staff members and students participated in plantation drive and they were highly interested to become part of the Green mission.

Plantation day 29 august 2023

Amity University Haryana conducted a successful Plantation Drive on August 29, 2023, a collaborative effort between The Amity School of Earth & Environmental Sciences and the Horticulture Department. MTC Herbal Garden Visit


During the compulsory five-day Military Training Camp (MTC) held at Amity University, students take part in a guided visit to the AYUSH AMITY Herbal Garden. This visit helps students learn about different types of medicinal and herbal plants while understanding their role in maintaining the balance of nature. It also explains how these plants have been used in traditional medicine for centuries. The purpose of this educational visit is to make students aware of the importance of conserving biodiversity and using natural resources wisely. It encourages respect for the environment and supports sustainable living. The activity reflects the spirit of Goal 15, which promotes education and awareness about the conservation of life on land and the protection of ecosystems for the well-being of all.

Amity University organizes educational visits to the AYUSH AMITY Herbal Garden for students as part of its learning and awareness programs.

School Students Visit

Amity Schools organize visits for school students to create awareness about medicinal plants, herbs, and their importance in today’s world. During these visits, the AUH Herbal Garden and the Dog Academy provide students with proper knowledge about plants and animals. The program helps students understand the role of biodiversity in maintaining ecological balance and encourages respect for nature and sustainable practices.

AUH welcomes every Amity school student to visit Herbal Garden. In this visit we educated them about Herbal Plants, demonstrate them about Planting and taking care of plants, their medicinal uses etc.

Every visitor to the university, regardless of their purpose of visit, is given a detailed tour of the campus. The tour includes a visit to the Dog Academy, the organic farm and the Herbal Garden. These visits are designed to educate guests about ecosystem management, the importance of biodiversity and sustainable practices. The program helps visitors understand how the university integrates environmental conservation with education and practical demonstrations.

Harit Sangam Program on Sunday, 7th April 2024

The Harit Sangam was an awareness Programme, engaged in activities connected to sustainable living and environmental conservation with the goal of promoting environmental consciousness in society.

The theme of the conclave was "Save Water, Plant Trees, and Say No to Polythene."

Attendees included 100–150 individuals and NGOs who are well-known for their efforts protecting the environment in the Manesar region and beyond. Both schoolchildren and AUH students were in attendance.
