Amity Institute of Pharmacy under the aegis of Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow Campus, conducted a guest lecture on “Journey to Become Clinical Data Co-ordinator” on 1st September 2023 via online mode (MS Teams) for Pharm.D students.
The guest speaker of the lecture was Dr. Swapneel Labade, a Certified Clinical Data Manager (CCDM®), who is currently working as Clinical Data Associate III at Syneos Health, Pune, Maharashtra. The main objective of this guest lecture was to provide detailed information about the Clinical Data Management (CDM) and different companies where students can apply for their jobs.
The speaker initiated his session with informing students about the major objectives of conducting clinical trials (CTs) and the different phases of the CTs with live examples. He explained what CDM is, its scope for jobs, how to capture the data, different levels of forms, and how databases work in real. He also briefed about the data collection, its integration, and the system validation processes.
The session covered the different interdependent groups on which the CDM depends, and the study startup phase was also explained. The speaker also informed about the various certificate courses, that can be opted by students in this regard. He also shared his professional journey of becoming an experienced clinical data associate, and how students can build up their profile for upcoming opportunities in future.
