7th National Conference on Society and Wellbeing organized by AIBAS, turned out to be a great congregation of more than 150 professionals, academicians, research scholars and students who not only shared their research findings on the theme subject but also debated on the various factors positively or negatively influencing the wellbeing with special focus on psychosocial wellbeing. The conference which was inaugurated by Prof. A. A. Mahdi, former Vice Chancellor, Ira Medical University, Lucknow was attended by eminent educationalists, mental health professionals and research scholars from different parts of India. Pro Vice Chancellor while delivering his welcome address focused on the role of society in reducing the stress and promoting the mental health in all stages of life span. Prof. Mahdi while inaugurating the conference emphasized the importance of biochemistry in the wellbeing of the individuals. Prof. N. N. Raju, Prof. of Psychiatry and former Dean, Institute of Medical Sciences, Vishakhapatnam in his keynote address emphasized the role of connectivity among individuals in ensuring societal wellbeing. Prof. Rajesh Tiwari, Dean Academics and Prof. S. Z. H. Zaidi also addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of the subject which is increasing its relevance day by day. The conference which continued for two days conducted one panel discussion on psychosomatic illness among children and two symposiums along with 8 concurrent scientific sessions wherein more than 8o research papers on important topics such as ‘Problematic Mobile Phone Usage’, ‘Sexual harassment among men’, ‘Study of victimization of transwomen’, ‘Feminism from the perspective of young adult males’, ‘Depression among parents with children having disabilities’, ‘Effectiveness of Psychodrama Therapy on Substance Abuse Patients’ were presented under the chairpersonship of eminent professors and practitioners. The session was concluded with vote of thanks to all the panellists, senior professionals, research scholars and students.
