Webinar on Evolution of Housing Policies in India and their affordability

A Webinar was conducted by ASAPL on the topic Evolution of Housing Policies in India and their affordability.  The Guest Speaker, Ar. Anukriti Pathak, Alumni of ASAPL, discussed on the Housing Policies during the session.

In order to meet the growing housing deficit of urban India, the Government of India launched Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) in 2015. The overarching objective of the policy was to build 1.8 million dwelling units in a span of seven years. Owing to the scale and size of India, this development presents the Government of India with a unique opportunity to lead by example by influencing the energy consumption patterns of these 1.8 Million households, aligning them with India’s Nationally Determined Contributions (INDC) as per the Paris Agreement 2018.

The objective of the event was to apprise and mould the students of architecture of ASAPL, AUUP to have insight into the actual working of government related policies in Urban and Rural India. It also aimed on how best to mould themselves with intellectual, behavioural, personality and execution skill-set to become an efficient Architect and part of policy making and understanding.
