Field Work Project at Himachal Pradesh & Punjab for Amity Institute of Travel and Tourism

 A Field work project was organized by Amity Institute of Travel and Tourism, Amity University, Mumbai to Himachal Pradesh & Punjab. This was held on 27th October to 04th November 2023. The tour was well organized and managed by Amity Institute of Travel and Tourism (AITT).

 
A total of 23 students of BTTM 2021 & MTTM 2022 batch were part of the tour and were accompanied by 2 faculties. The fieldwork project to Himachal Pradesh for tourism students aimed to provide an immersive learning experience in one of India's most captivating tourist destinations. The tour focused on various aspects of tourism, including cultural heritage, adventure tourism, and sustainable tourism practices.
 
The itinerary included visits to key destinations such as India Gate-Delhi, ABVIMAS (Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports)-Manali, ATAL Tunnel-Manali, Highest Paragliding site in India-Bir Billing, an offbeat place which is Prashar Rishi Temple-Mandi, Golden Temple-Amritsar, Beating Retreat border ceremony at Atari Wagah Border-Amritsar and a cultural exchange was arranged between students of Amity Institute of Travel and Tourism, Amity University Mumbai-Maharashtra & GNDU (Guru Nanak Dev University)- Department of Hotel Management and Tourism. Each location was selected to represent different facets of tourism in Himachal Pradesh & Punjab.
 
The fieldwork project tour to Himachal Pradesh provided valuable insights for students, offering a holistic understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the tourism industry. It emphasized the need for sustainable practices to ensure the long-term prosperity of both the tourism sector and the region's natural and cultural heritage in both offbeat and famous destinations.
