B.Sc. (Hons.) Forestry

The B.Sc.(Hons). Forestry course at the Amity University has been developed to impart education and training in the field of forestry and wildlife to support the cause of forest and forest resource conservation in India and elsewhere. The loss of forests is constantly increasing and the ways to mitigate and manage them requires a scientific approach. The management plans for forested/protected areas in India require a strong scientific basis for their successful management. Further, the forests of India hold unique wildlife habitats, flora and fauna and management of these requires skill keeping in mind the constant pressures that stress these systems. All this requires trained personnel in the field of forestry. This course aims to create trained forestry personals who will effectively tackle these issues and challenges. The B.Sc. course in Forestry is a four years full time curriculum organized in eight semesters which includes value added courses even.

Wildlife Quotes

"The spruce and cedar on its shores, hung with gray lichens, looked at a distance like the ghosts of trees. Ducks were sailing here and there on its surface, and a solitary loon, like a more living wave, - a vital spot on the lake's surface, - laughed and frolicked, and showed its straight leg, for our amusement."
- Henry David Thoreau, The Maine Woods Read more....
