About Us

Amity Institute of Nanotechnology (AINT) is one of the world’s leading research and academic Institutes, established in 2003. It offers a vast variety of academic programs as well as dual degree programs such as  B.Sc. (Hons) Nanoscience, B.Sc. (Hons)  Nanoscience with Research, B.Tech. (Nanotechnology), B.Tech. + M.Tech. (Nanotechnology) - Integrated,  M.Tech. (Nanotechnology), M.Sc. (Nanoscience by Research), M.Sc.(Nanoscience by Research) + M.Tech (Nanotechnology) – Integrated, Ph.D. in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology ( Full Time and Part-Time)  strictly adhering to the guidelines laid down by University Grants Commission (UGC). Today it boasts to have nationally and internationally acclaimed faculty members with an excellent scientific background. The eminent faculty is committed to train the students in the frontier areas of nanotechnology, for which they have designed a noteworthy syllabus. The students are given hands-on training on equipment and constant academic and research guidance by the celebrated academic/scientific body. AINT strives to impart much-needed mentoring for leadership in today’s rapidly changing world.

The interdisciplinary research in AINT specializes in polymer science, semiconductor physics, materials chemistry, chemical engineering, biochemical and agriculture sciences, etc. and focuses on the development of materials for energy, nano-bio sensors, photocatalytic materials for water mission, nanostructured functional surfaces, applications of nanomaterials in healthcare, agriculture, food, and forensic sciences. It houses adequate laboratory infrastructure for traditional experiments and high-level research. The students are provided ample opportunities to go to leading national and international institutes/laboratories for their dissertation work. AINT has numerous international collaborations/MoUs for student’s dissertations, academic exchange, and research. For the last few years, AINT has shown exponential growth in research with more than 586 research papers, 41 extramural research grants worth 11.22 crores, 88 patents and one technology transfer. AINT is recognized by DST-FIST (Level 1) Govt. of India support for its research and academic excellence.

VISION:

The VISION of AINT is to be internationally competent and to excel in education and research in the emerging field of nanotechnology.

MISSION

The MISSION of AINT is to provide a unique platform of learning and disseminating knowledge to the students in various streams of nanoscience and nanotechnology, create interdisciplinary knowledge and expertise in nanotechnology with emphasis on promoting the academia - industry interaction to boost application oriented research for societal needs.

What is Nanotechnology:

Nanotechnology is an emerging field that brings together elements from traditional disciplines, such as applied physics, chemistry, biology and engineering. At the nanoscale, which covers structures ranging from 1 to 100 nanometres, the physical and chemical properties of materials undergo quantitative and qualitative changes, depending on the size of the nanomaterial. The size dependent properties of nanomaterials give a handle to engineer the properties of materials at nanoscale and exploit them for applications in various disciplines of science and interdisciplinary areas. The multidisciplinary research field of nanotechnology focuses on synthesizing materials at nanoscale with a view to design and develop functional materials, structures, devices and systems. The nanotechnology offers a huge potential of applications and is considered a building block for tomorrow.

Message from Director

The nanotechnology has emerged as one of the most fascinating areas of research, bridging together different branches of science with tremendous potentials of applications in all walks of life. The nanotechnology offers a huge potential of applications and is considered a building block for tomorrow. The distinguished and enthusiastic faculty at AINT strives for excellence in education, training of students in different streams of nanotechnology and application oriented high impact research for the societal needs. The AINT faculty collaborates with scientists and academicians within country and around the world across, covering the disciplines of physics, chemistry, materials science, biology and medicine at nanoscale. The AINT has Memorandum of Understanding with a number of international universities and institutes, boosting academic exchange and research. Apart from the application oriented research, the focus is also on the fundamental aspects and inter-disciplinary research. The former AINT graduates are leading successful start-ups as entrepreneurs and contributing to building INDIA. A good number of the Alumni are pursuing bright research career in several renowned international universities and laboratories.

May this temple of education and learning be ever blessed,
flourish and grow in the time to come and march ahead towards a bright horizon!
