Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida campus celebrated “Kargil Vijay Diwas”, honoring the commitment and sacrifice of the Indian Armed Forces during the 1999 Kargil War. The day was marked by a Flag Hoisting Ceremony by Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor AUUP.
Shri Vivek Bhadauriya, City Magistrate, stated, “We are extremely delighted to celebrate Kargil Vijay Diwas today at Amity. It is a day of national pride, and we must carry the spirit of Kargil in our hearts and strive to make our nation proud.”
Addressing the students, Prof. (Dr.) Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor AUUP, said, “Amity University is proud to pay tribute to the brave soldiers who fought for our nation's sovereignty and integrity. We salute their courage and sacrifice, which we will never be able to forget. Amity is committed to promoting national pride and the University believes in instilling a sense of patriotism and responsibility among its students.”
Dr. Siyaram Verma, ARTO, said, “The Kargil War taught us the importance of preparedness, vigilance, and strategic acumen. It showed us the strength of a united nation and the power of patriotism. We must embody these values by working hard, supporting each other, and contributing to the nation's growth.”
Brigadier Shri Ashok Hak, averred, “Today, we gather here at Amity to reminisce the sacrifice of our Indian soldiers who fought in the Kargil War. On July 26, 1999, India emerged victorious, reclaiming its territory from Pakistani intruders and the day is a testament to the determination, and patriotism of our armed forces.”
Welcoming the guests, Brig. (Dr.) Anand Tewari, Director, Amity Institute of Defence & Strategic Studies (AIDSS), said, “Every year, 26th July is observed as Kargil Vijay Diwas, commemorating the bravery and supreme sacrifice of the Indian Armed Forces during the 1999 Kargil War. On this day, the Nation salutes the soldiers who safeguarded our country with unflinching spirit and patriotism.”
On this occasion, students of Amity presented patriotic songs and vibrant classical dance performances. The Programme was attended by the students and faculty of Amity.
