Webinar by Students Club Saahas on Commemorating the successful conduct of the kargil war- Kargil Vijay Divas on 26th July 2021
SAAHAS, the defense and social help club of Amity University, Haryana organized a remarkable event on the occasion of the 22nd Kargil Vijay Diwas, i.e., 26th July 2021.
The main objective of the event to evoke the patriotic spirit of the faculty, staff and students, as also to give them a historical perspective of the Kargil War.
Lt Gen Himalay Singh, Retired, Lt Gen Indian Army Ex Chairman Manipur Public Service Commission ,gave a blow-by-blow account of the capture of pt 5770 by his Battalion, the 27 Rajputs. The immaculate planning and fearless execution led to the capture of the Pakistani post located at 18500 ft. He further recounted as to how the post was reorganized after the capture. Lt Gen Himalaya revealed that the Pakistani authorities refused to take back the dead soldiers. Eventually the Pakistani soldiers in the tradition of the Indian Army were given a burial with full military honors.
Total 256 students attended the session.
