A French Film Screening organised by ASL on 26th October, 2023
Amity School of Languages, Amity University Gurugram organised a French film named “Mystère” by Denis Imbert, on 26th October, 2023. The movie, based on a true story, follows the journey of Stéphane, a father who, after his wife's passing, relocates to the mountains with his 8-year-old daughter Vicky, who has become non-verbal. The narrative unfolds as Vicky discovers a puppy in the forest, naming him Mystery.
The inspiration and objectives of the event were centred on expanding the horizons of language by introducing students to French words, sounds, and pronunciation through an engaging cinematic experience. The event also provided insight into French culture, customs, and expressions, fostering a deeper understanding beyond the linguistic aspect. A total of 90 students participated in the event.
In conclusion, the event successfully achieved its goals of enriching students' language skills, cultural awareness, and overall appreciation for the French language. The film's storyline, based on a true account, added authenticity and depth to the language-learning experience.
