A Guest Lecture on the occasion of National Energy Conservation Day organized by AUH on 14th December, 2023
Solar Engineering Department and Amity Centre of Excellence in Ocean, Atmospheric Science and Technology in collaboration with Institution Innovation Council, Amity University Gurugram organized a guest lecture aligning with the mission of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), on the occasion National Energy Conservation Day, titled “Influence of Meteorology on Air Quality,” on 14th December, 2023.
The event aimed to raise awareness about energy conservation and climate change, with a focus on the initiatives undertaken by the university in energy efficiency. The event commenced with a welcome address by Prof. (Dr.) P C S Devara, highlighting AUH's efforts in monitoring air quality on campus and showcasing research on the impact of air pollution on human health. Prof. (Dr.) P B Sharma, the Vice Chancellor, stressed the importance of energy conservation for sustainable development. Dr. Anikender Kumar delivered a guest lecture on the "Influence of Meteorology on Air Quality," discussing the effects of atmospheric pollution on ozone levels and its implications for health. The lecture emphasized the importance of energy conservation in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and its positive impact on the environment. A total of 39 students and 14 faculty members participated in the event.
In conclusion the event demonstrated knowledge on energy conservation and the importance of taking the Renewable Energy Pledge, symbolizing their commitment to environmental conservation. Moreover, the event fostered connections among the college students and encouraged them to work for a better future.
