About the Magazine

BRICS Perspective is the bi-annual publication of the Amity Centre for BRICS Studies, Amity University Haryana. This publication is thoughtfully curated to offer a critical insight into the range of issues related to BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) and BRICS plus (Egypt, Iran, UAE, Ethiopia and Indonesia) countries. As an influential alliance of emerging economies, BRICS+ plays a significant role in shaping global economic policies, political dynamics, and development agendas. This becomes more relevant in the wake of ongoing geopolitical tension and conflicts and its impact on the world economy, trade and supply chain. With the addition of five new members, BRICS group now represents around 36% of global gross national income and 46% of the world's population. More than 40% of global oil production and more than 36% of global gas production can now be attributed to BRICS countries. BRICS Plus, with its increased geopolitical significance, has the potential to wield greater leverage in shaping global economic policies and challenging traditional power structures. The diversity within expanded BRICS enriches the economic discourse and provides opportunities for shared learning and collaboration.

BRICS Perspective offers thought-provoking articles, insightful commentaries, and in-depth analytical pieces that explore various facets of BRICS ranging from geostrategic prism of hard power politics to civilizational prism of soft power politics, from the harsh reality of environment and climate change to developmental strategies, not forgetting the role of science and technology in forging ties among BRICS + nations. The analyses offered by the experts aim to be critical in its approach and holistic in its coverage for better understanding the ever evolving world of this dynamic grouping which has the potential to offer an alternative worldview.
