The developments in this decade, including High-Speed Internet, Accelerated High-end Hardware, Mobile Devices, and Artificial Intelligence, have opened new opportunities in the field of Information Technology. Huge disruption, and new job opportunities are knocking the door of young minds, due to the Generative AI as impact on every domain. The Amity Institute of Information Technology (AIIT) was established in the year 2015 with an aim to attract young talent interested in the field of computer science and information technology.

At present, AIIT is running a two-year Post Graduate programme MCA, and M.Sc. (Cyber Security). AIIT offers and four years Undergraduate programmes, i.e., BCA (Honours / Honours with Research) with three specializations with BCA - Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) , BCA - Data Science and Analytics, & BCA- Blockchain and Cyber Security. The institution also offers four years B.Sc. Information Technology (Honours / Honours with Research) program. A full-time and part-time Ph. D. Research programme in Information Technology are also offered at the school. The school created a technology-assisted teaching-learning environment having Amizone (ERP System) and a Learning Management System (LMS) to achieve excellence in pedagogy. The faculty members use new-age teaching and learning tools and technologies for the implementation and demonstration of the advanced technologies. The blended learning, flipped classrooms, case studies, and project-based learning are the regular activities carried out in the department.

The pedagogy tools and techniques for effective knowledge transfer make the learning interesting for students having different learning abilities and different interests. Due to the use of synchronous and asynchronous teaching and learning methods, AIIT at Amity University Mumbai has created its unique identity in the education field. The AIIT students are equipped with the essential skills to face all kinds of challenges in the technical and research realm. AIIT updates the curriculum of all the programmes to match the skillset requirement, including a strong foundation of core courses and recent advancements in the field of Information Technology.

The Computer Laboratory is equipped with exemplary computers, as per the software installation requirements for the open-source and bespoke software. The virtual computer laboratories are accessible through a cloud-based environment. The school provides a digital library, consisting of IEEE, EBSCO, Scopus, E-Books, Journals, and Magazines, as online learning material.

The major research domain of the AIIT is Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Image processing, Web3, and Cloud Computing. There are nine Ph. D. scholars pursing their research under the able guidance of the experienced faculty members. There are several Scopus and WOS indexed publications, and two patents in the account of the AIIT.
