Amity University Mumbai Organized A Field Work Project At Dapoli For Travel & Tourism Students

A Field work project was organized by Amity Institute of Travel and Tourism, Amity University, Mumbai to Dapoli, Dist- Ratnagiri-Maharashtra. This was held on 11th November to 14th November 2022. The tour was well organized and managed by Amity Institute of Travel and Tourism (AITT).

A total of 27 students of BTTM 2019 Batch were part of the tour and were accompanied by 2 faculties. It was an all-round experience for the students in areas such as time management, situation handling, ability of decision-making, handling process of big group, communication skills, tour planning and operations, economics of tourism, sustainable tourism, destination management. Students visited natural hot water springs, Historical Panhalkaji Caves, 5000-year-Old Keshavraj Temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu, Murud & Ladghar beach, Cashew Processing Factory and an educational visit to a prominent 5-star Resort. Students not only learned above topics but also after visiting a prominent agricultural university in Dapoli students learnt about another vertical which is Agriculture and how being responsible towards nature can bring social and economic benefits. Since rural and agricultural tourism are also major themes in the domestic tourism sector, this additional visit was a major learning experience.

The overall learning outcome of this tour was that students learned about the conduction of tourism from the grassroots level instead of only visiting famous places; such rural and offbeat destinations of India are to be promoted and awareness has to be spread among all tourists.
