It is well said that we are all tourists in this world and life.

Amity Institute of Travel and Tourism at Amity University Mumbai was established in 2015 and gives a platform for travel enthusiasts, to contribute to the exponentially growing travel industry. The travel and tourism industry is the life blood of most countries and contributes a huge part to the economy. Tourism is the biggest service industry in world. As per the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) 2018 Report, the total contribution of the travel and tourism sector to India’s GDP is expected to increase from Rs. 15.24 trillion in 2017 to Rs. 32.05 trillion in 2028. India was ranked 7th among 184 countries in terms of travel and tourism’s total contribution to GDP in 2017.

Travel and tourism is the third largest foreign exchange earner for India. The tourism industry is predicted to create ten lakh job opportunities in coming year. Our mission is to create a professional and sensible work force for a sensible and sustainable growth of tourism industry and Indian economy. We at AITT not only focus on academics but also nurture the personality of the student by providing a holistic learning environment. Our core values revolve on teamwork, responsibility and accountability, discipline, sensitivity, and respect for all.

There are different forms of tourism which have emerged and many new emerging trends which have enormous potential such as Medical Tourism, Spiritual and Religious Tourism, Sustainable and Responsible Tourism, Culinary Tourism etc. these are just few to name, the list goes on. The tourism industry itself is diverse and varied in nature and thus also needs people from different and varied backgrounds. Studying and working in this industry is perfect for people who wish to contribute to the society in a tangible way. The possibilities and opportunities in field of travel and tourism are limitless. With a strong belief that the tourism professionals trained under AITT will contribute positively in sustainable and responsible growth of the tourism Industry of India.
