Amity University, Maharashtra, held its second annual convocation ceremony on the campus of Amity University, Maharashtra on March 18, 2023, a Saturday. Robert Suskind, Founding Dean of California North State University of Medicine, Dr. Rajeev Agarwal, Senior Director of Breast Cancer Institute at Medanta, Amitabh Chaudhary, MD & CEO of Axis Bank Limited and Nishith Desai, Founder of Nishith Desai Associate were conferred honorary degrees by Dr. Aseem Chauhan, Chancellor and President of Amity University, Maharashtra.
The second annual convocation ceremony was a grand event for the graduates who received their coveted degrees, for the assembled guests, and for all those associated with the Mumbai campus of the esteemed university. Since the 2020 to 2023 session, a total of 3359 students have graduated. Of these, the University has awarded 7 students with Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan Scholarship, 91 students with Shri Baljit Shastri Award, 80 students with Gold Medals, 76 students with Silver Medals and 32 students with Bronze Medals. 11 students received trophies for their achievements, graduating from this university between 2020 and 2023.
Amitabh Chaudhary, MD & CEO Axis Bank Limited, was awarded the Director of Philosophy (D. Phil) for his exceptional vision, supreme professionalism and direction in the pursuit of excellence, strategic vision and inspirational leadership in steering his organization towards continuous growth and commitment to the welfare of humanity. In his acceptance speech, Mr. Amitabh Chaudhary said, “I put on many hats, and the journey was more important to me than the achievements. Learning is very important, but sometimes you have to unlearn, forget the elements of irrelevance while maintaining integrity." He also says that "the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams"
Nishith Desai, The Founder of Nishith Desai Associate, was awarded Doctor of Laws (LL. D) for his outstanding achievements in the field of law and jurisprudence and for his tireless efforts and immense contribution to the development of legal systems, which has enhanced the image of the Indian legal system worldwide. Receiving the award, Shri Nishith said, "The greatest source of inspiration for me are students like you. I thank all those who have contributed to my growth and profession. I have received tremendous emotional, intellectual and physical support from my family, friends and colleagues."
Dr. Rajeev Agarwal, Senior Director, Breast Cancer Institute at Medanta, has been awarded the Doctor of Science (D. Sc.) degree for his profound and exemplary contributions to the field of medical science, his extraordinary vision, his unwavering commitment to the dissemination of knowledge, his professionalism and pursuit of excellence, his philanthropic zeal, his societal efforts, and his strategic vision of inspiring leadership that serves the greater good of humanity. Commenting on the momentous occasion of the award, Dr. Rajeev Agarwal said. "This award has a very special meaning for me as a motivation to continue my work for the cause of cancer, particularly prevention and social awareness. This award is an expression of my gratitude and respect to my teachers and mentors who have guided me throughout my years of study.

Dr. Aseem Chauhan, Chancellor and President of Amity University, Mumbai, in presenting the awards to the students, said, "This event is about celebrating the achievements of the most brilliant graduates," he says, adding, "Amity believes this is the beginning of a lifelong commitment to excellence and giving back to society. This is also a celebration of the graduates' families, recognizing that it is not only the individual's efforts that lead to success, but also the family's guidance and support.
Speaking at the convocation, Prof (Dr.) A W Santhosh Kumar, Vice Chancellor, said, “Amity is engraved in our DNA, and we strive to live the legacy of excellence.
