The recent pandemic has powerfully underscored the indispensable role of biotechnology in addressing humanity’s most pressing challenges. As the world confronted the COVID-19 crisis, it was biotechnology that rose to the occasion—delivering lifesaving vaccines at scale and pioneering interventions that offered hope across the globe. Beyond healthcare, biotechnology continues to demonstrate its transformative potential in agriculture, dairy, pharmaceuticals, environmental science, food technology, diagnostics, and research & development.
Recognizing this growing significance, the Amity Institute of Biotechnology (AIB) was established in 2015 with a mission to provide world-class education and training. Since its inception, AIB has offered a comprehensive suite of programs—B.Sc., B.Tech., M.Sc., M.Tech., and Ph.D. (Full time/Part time) designed to equip students with rigorous academic foundations and hands-on expertise. Our curriculum integrates the latest advancements, techniques, and tools in biotechnology, while emphasizing internships and experiential learning to ensure graduates are industry-ready.
Situated in Chhattisgarh, a region blessed with over 33% forest cover and rich biodiversity of medicinal plants, AIB has taken proactive steps to safeguard these resources. The Centre of Excellence for Ayurvedic Medicine & Research was established to conserve this invaluable heritage and explore its potential for modern applications. Recently AIB extended its curriculum with the introduction of B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Microbiology as well.
In response to the urgent challenges of climate change, AIB has also launched the Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Development and Energy, dedicated to designing innovative solutions for mitigation. Its focus spans waste management, biofuel production, and sustainable practices, reinforcing our commitment to environmental stewardship.
At AIB, academic excellence is seamlessly blended with holistic development. We strive to nurture not only skilled biotechnologists but also responsible global citizens, instilling in our students the knowledge, ethics, and vision to make meaningful contributions to society.
