Global HR Congress 2018- “A Multidisciplinary Approach towards Organizational Excellence”

The Global HR Cngress 2018, a mega event of excellence was a two-day multidisciplinary event held on April 6th -7th, 2018 at the sprawling campus of Amity University Haryana.  The theme of the Congress “A Multidisciplinary Approach to Organizational Excellence” attracted eminent speakers and delegates from more than ten countries like Dubai, Hongkong, Turkey, USA, Nigeria, etc.,  in the areas of Management including hospitality and tourism, law, psychology health, nursing and nutrition.

The congress began on an auspicious note with the lamp lighting ceremony followed by a welcome of all speakers and dignitaries by Pro Vice-Chancellor AUH and Conference chairperson Dr Padmakali Banerjee. The co-chair of the Congress Dr BL Dubey and the conference directors Dr Vikas Madhukar, Dr Bhavana Adhikari, Maj. Gen. P.K. Sharma, Maj. Gen. Mahavir Singh and Dr Rishi pal also shared their thoughts during the inaugural session. The esteemed speakers during the Congress included His Excellency, Ambassador Chris Sunday Eze, Nigeria High Commission , Mr. Pankaj Dubey Managing Director Polaris India, Mr. Raj Nehru Vice Chancellor Vishwakarma Skills University, Mr. Yogeshwar Sharma Executive Director and CEO Select Infrastructure Private Ltd, Mr. Dharm Rakshit Senior GM HR Hero MotoCorp Ltd, Mr. P Gopala Krishnan Managing Director Green Building Certification India Ltd, Ms. Minakshi Cornellis HR Head , IFM West Asia and Mr. Chad Mason Executive Director Bereal Leadership Institute, Texas. They discussed the future trends and challenges in the field of human resource.

Prof. (Dr). Padmakali Banerjee, Pro Vice Chancellor, Amity University Haryana said, “As the world moves into a dynamic and fast-changing environment, we see large disruptions, technological innovations, coupled with human creativity and explorations. All this is leading us to a new future where traditional practices in the area of management and health will undergo a transformative change.”

His Excellency, Ambassador Chris Sunday Eze, Nigeria High Commission, emphasized on learning and its fruits for developing economies, “If we change our education system we can go beyond imagination as the students are the leaders of tomorrow. We learn and are inspired to connect to the prestigious universities of India which will help for evolving Africa & its people.”

While addressing, Mr Raj Nehru, Vice Chancellor, Haryana Vishwakarma Skill University said,” We need to accept the change and keep innovating”.

The inaugural session was also witnessed to the release of four books by the faculty of Amity University Haryana. These books were “Power of Positivity- Optimism and the Seventh Sense” by Dr Padmakali Banerjee, “GST and its aftermath” coauthored by Dr Debasis Bhattacharya, “Human Resource Management” authored by Dr RC Sharma and Mr Nipun Sharma and “A Multidisciplinary Approach to Excellence” with Dr Padmakali Banerjee, Dr Bhavana Adhikari and Dr Rishipal as editors.

The inaugural session came to an end with the felicitation of the guests and concluding remarks and vote of thanks by Dr Vikas Madhukar, Dy. Director Amity Business School, Director Admissions and Director HR Congress 2018.

At present, frequently changing, the business landscape is driving the modern human resource management towards number 9of challenges and more such challenges are expected to evolve in future too. Compliance with Laws, Change Management, Leadership Development, Technological advancement, Compensation Management, Recruitment and selection of Talented Employees, Talented Employees Retention, Diversity Management and Globalization are really some of the very difficult challenges to manage. To address these challenges, HR professionals need to work more strategically by adding values to the HR functions for the highest organizational productivity and efficiency.

By engaging in online courses, video-based e-learning programmes, in-house training and other learning activities organized by academic and industrial units can support the modern organizations for effective handling of difficult HR issues. Present Global HR Congress is also a step in the same direction. This congress will invite the practising professionals from the disciplines of Management, Psychology, psychiatry, Hospitality, sociology, Anthropology, Economics, Statistics, Communication, Public Administration and other allied study areas of management to brainstorm on the major HR theme “A Multidisciplinary Approach towards Organizational Excellence.”

The Congress received an overwhelming support from corporate, academic institutions and government bodies. The Congress had Medanta, GBCI, IACP, SIS, Eicher Polaris, Select City Infrastructure and Miles Education- IMA as its partners.

More than 650 delegates from prestigious Institutes from India as well as from abroad such as Delhi University, Kirorimal college, Guru Jambeshwar University, MMPG Faridabad, CRSU Jind Aligarh Muslim University, Christ University, Monarch University China, University of Minnesota, University College of Dublin, Middlesex University, Dubai, IIM Amritsar, IIT Roorkee etc., participated and close to 100 papers were presented in the conference in 10 Technical Sessions in the areas of Management, Hospitality and Tourism, Law , Psychology, Health and Nutrition.

A conference souvenir containing the abstract of more than 100 research papers was also released on the theme of the conference. During the course of this Congress, two workshops were also organized- “HR Assessment tool- Optimism Index” and “Somatic Inkblot series’ which were attended by more than 200 participants.

On the occasion of the Global HR Congress 2018, 16 awards and honours in three categories- Alumni Excellence, Corporate Mentors and Leadership excellence were given to Thought Leaders, Alumni and Mentors who have made the recognizable contribution not only in their respective industry but also towards creating and disseminating knowledge.

The Congress concluded with the valedictory function wherein Best Paper Awards were also given. Dr.Smriti Arora, Dr Gyanjyoti, Dr Bhartendra Sharma won the best paper award won the best paper award at the Global HR Congress 2018.

Prof. Padmakali Banerjee, Pro Vice Chancellor, Amity University Haryana, to the eminent guests at valedictory function, said, “With the globalised world environment, we have witnessed the way legal practices have evolved to create a seamless system for business operations, whether it is foreign Direct Investments merger and acquisitions”.

The medical and Health practices have undergone transformational evolution and progress, and the future would see more of technology in creating health and well being; both mental and physical she added.

Mr Deepak Narayan Basu Director and Branch Head of Delhi Zone, Simplex Infrastructures and Mr Sarvesh Tiwari, Founder of PR Professionals were the guests of honour during the ceremony and they addressed the gathering sharing with the audience their valuable experiences. Mr Deepak Narayan Basu said, “Nowadays students are diverting their mind on studying online rather than spending time in the library and reading books. Students should know the importance of education so that the nation will reach great heights”.
