Combating Human Trafficking and Understanding Bonded Labour

Vice Chancellor of Amity University Rajasthan, Prof. (Dr.) Amit Jain, Addressing students about the bonded labour and importance of Labour Day.

Legal Aid Clinic, Amity Law school, Amity University Rajasthan organized a workshop in collaboration with district Legal Service Authority on 1st May 2023, on the topic “Combating Human Trafficking and Understanding Bonded Labour” on the occasion of Labour Day in collaboration with the District Legal Service Authority, Jaipur- District. At the Starting of the Workshop, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Amit Jain addressed the students about the importance of Labour Day and its origin which led to regularization of work timings as a right.

Ms. Askha Rao (Additional District and Session Judge) Secretary of DLSA, graced the event and discussed the role of DLSA in reducing and regulating the cases related to Human Trafficking and their rehabilitation part.

Both the Speakers Adv. Sharon Jacob and Adv. John James, Legal Consultants of International Justice Mission, addressed on legal aspect of Human Trafficking and Bonded Labour and implications of laws. Further, they focused on how a law student can contribute to this area through research and publication. Secondly, issues can be brought directly to DLSA or District Magistrate through Legal Aid Clinic.
