Council of Architecture 

  • Under the provisions of the Architects Act, 1972 the Council of Architecture has  prescribe the Minimum Standards of Architectural Education for imparting 5-year undergraduate degree course in Architecture (i.e. Bachelor of Architecture degree course) and also monitor the compliance of the same by the approved Architectural Institutions all over the country for award of recognized qualifications under the Act. .Council Of Architecture oversees the maintenance of the standards periodically by way of conducting inspections through Committees of Experts.

  • ASAP thoroughly follows the rules and regulations given by Council of Architecture. Regularly Council of Architecture visits are conducted at ASAP.

 

Board Of Studies 

  • Board of studies is a very important component in academics of any institution. It is vital for not only setting up the contents of courses but is also very crucial in updating the contents as in when required . BOS also aids in introducing the new courses in the programmes.
  • ASAP has a constituted BOS right from the beginning years of the institute & has been very active in organising the BOS meetings at regular intervals. Head of Institution (HOI) i.e Prof.(Dr.) Anurag Varma  is the current chairman of BOS; while Senior Professor along with team of associate and assistant professors are nominated as its internal members.
  • Moreover, eminent academician ‘Prof.Alok Ranjan (MNIT)’ & senior practicing architect ‘Mrs.Rashmi Gupta’ serves the institute as external subject experts of BOS.

Industry Integrated Curricular

  • The industry experts are part of School Board of Studies and guide the development of curriculum.
  • The students are taken to study various sites under construction and for interaction with industries like Stone Mart, Home Décor Exhibitions, Delhi Art Festival, Exhibitions in Jawahar Kala Kendra, and Centre for Stone Development, various on-going products, IIA and IIID activities.
  • ASAP organizes frequent visits and workshops by eminent practicing architects from within the country and abroad. Students interact with professionals and experts during these sessions.
  • Some prominent visitors to the School includes Ar. Uday Gadkari (President COA); Ar. Prakash Deshmukh, (President IIA), Ar. Divya Kush (President (IIA), Ar. Rajendra Puri (President IIID), Ar. Vijay Garg (Vice President COA), Ar. Prof. Alok Ranjan (COA), Ar. Ajit Mohan (Australia), Ar. DPS Duggal (USA), Er. Arvind Vashistha (Canada); Ar. Ashok Pareek (Jaipur), Ar. Neeraj Gupta (CU Raj.) among others have visited ASAP.

Open Juries: The students are encouraged to attend and analyze the juries of senior to learn from real life work situations.

External Juries: External juror comprising Practicing architects and Academicians from eminent institutes are invited for taking juries of works of students.  Students get an opportunity to get feedback from experts and improvise their creation.

Hands-on Training: ASAP has its construction yard and workshop where students gets hands on experience on different materials and chance to make 3d scale models of design they are working upon.

Market Surveys: students are regularly sent for market for collecting samples and understanding rates, availability and arrival of new building materials.

Site Study: Students visits different projects and sites construction or completed recently to study construction techniques, materials, building services & design aspects. Few of the recently visited sites   include Technology Park at Mansarover Jaipur, Hotel JW Marriott and The Exotica Gurgaon. Students also visit sites where they are designing a project to understand existing intricacies of the site.

Study Tours: In the attempt to familiarize with architectural styles and climate of different regions the students are taken to various cities. Recent cities visited by students include Bhutan, Kerala, Udaipur, Chittorgarh, Chandigarh, Shimla, Pune, Mumbai, Delhi etc.

In-House Workshops:  ASAP organizes various workshops on regular basis under the supervision of experts and guest faculties.

International and National Seminars and Workshops:  International and National seminars like SPATE -2015, Laurie Baker Workshop at Trivandrum (2015-2017) give students an exposure to the national and international happenings in architecture and one to one chance of interaction with experts.

Choice Based credit System

University Programs provides academic flexibility to its students. Students are suggested to opt any course of the university as open elective and earn its credits as prescribed in the program. A bundle of predefined courses is called minor track, which a student can opt on their own choice in their UG Program.
