Banner- India US Relationship Amidst Global Multi porality
The speaker spoke on the topic-India-US relations amidst global multipolarity. Currently India-US relationship is at an interesting juncture. Experts of international relations call partnership of these two countries as ‘natural allies.’ But this partnership has seen many ups and downs. During the time of US President Nixon, it has seen its lowest. But successive governments at both the sides have worked to make it better. Indian Diaspora (soft power) have played a very important role in bringing these two countries closer. Indian economic liberalisation and rise of a big middle class has in a way compelled USA to treat India differently. At a comprehensive front, economic aspects, trade, investment, technology cooperation etc India’s biggest partner is the United States. The speaker also elaborated how the Indian origin authorities are deeply integrated with the US society. Currently we have many Indian origin US citizens holding very important positions in US government right from Kamla Harris US Vice President.
It is the need of the hour for both the countries to come closer for security reasons as well. The current geo-politics placement of both the countries have made it inevitable for them to come closer and work together for the best interest of both the countries. It was evident during G-20 summit as well.
