Presentation by the Resource Person
This event was conducted by looking at the importance of infrastructure for improving the livelihoods of the rural people. Moreover, gaps in infrastructure hampers access to products and markets, which may be seen as the main causes behind poverty, the research noted. Other studies that link poverty with infrastructure in the Indian context have also demonstrated a positive correlation between infrastructure and well-being. The resource person explained on the above-mentioned theme in a very simple way. He has raised lot of issues pertaining to the contemporary development of infrastructure, which were very useful from the research point of view. As per the authors vast experience at grass-roots level, infrastructure development is the key to economic progress and subsequently to overall well-being of the people of the country. Question and answer session at the end was very interactive, where different queries of students were answered nicely by the resource person.
