Established in 2015, the Amity Institute of Liberal Arts (AILA) offers students the freedom to design their academic pathways while fostering exploration, creativity, and intellectual curiosity. Blending coursework with real-world exposure through internships, AILA prepares students to face contemporary challenges with confidence.

With innovative teaching and experiential learning at its core, the institute nurtures analytical thinking, social awareness, and commitment to public welfare. Students engage in debates and discussions that encourage pluralism, critical thought, and creativity. This holistic approach equips them for higher studies, meaningful careers, entrepreneurship, and contributions to societal progress.

 

The Institute of Liberal Arts offers B.A. (Liberal Arts) (Honours/Research), B.A. Economics (Honours/Research), Bachelor of Social Work, and Master of Social Work. All programs combine theoretical rigor with practical exposure through field visits, rural immersion, and research writing. B.A. Economics emphasizes blended theory–practice learning, while B.A. Liberal Arts students also earn a professional certificate to support entrepreneurial ventures. Social Work programs integrate theory, practice, and social science policy studies..

With an interdisciplinary approach, AILA fosters inclusive, egalitarian, and gender-sensitive learning spaces where human values and free expression thrive. Students grow as socially responsible citizens through active learning and co-curricular engagement.

Amity School of Languages (ASL) is a constituent unit of Amity University Mumbai established in year 2014, aspiring to promote language acquisition skills and to indoctrinate various aspects of literature in distinctive languages, societies and cultures. Aiming to inculcate human values, creative and critical thinking through the study of literature, the School makes students industry ready through the acquisition of languages like French, Spanish and German.

Considering the advancing needs of globalization, Amity School of Languages offers courses in English and other foreign languages such as French, Spanish and German; which not only enables the students to learn but enhance their communication skills. The school consists of qualified, dedicated and research-oriented faculty members who teach diverse aspects of Communication Skills in English and other foreign languages i.e. French, German and Spanish to the UG and PG students across the University. Apart from it, English Literature, language and linguistics, ELT and further facets of English Literature and research are inculcated in the students graduating in English Literature.

One of the most engaging and paramount aspect of the school is, it offers an Elective/Minor Track -English Literature to the students, who have opted for various courses in the University. The number of students opting for English Minor Track is increasing every year. The school also has an state of the art Language Lab for enhancing the language skills of the students. The school is growing stronger in the teaching-learning process as well as in research, ensuring to create pro-active and responsible professionals and citizens.
