Indigenous Technologies for Viksit Bharat

28th February is celebrated as National Science Day in India. It is celebrated to commemorate discovery of the ‘Raman Effect’, which led to Sir C.V. Raman winning the Noble Prize. Every year, National Science Day is observed to raise awareness about the importance of science in our lives and also acknowledge the efforts of the scientists who work in exploring more ways by which science can be implemented to make our lives simpler and easier. Amity Institute of Pharmacy (AIP) under the aegis of Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow Campus, celebrated this day with utmost gush at the Moot Court Room, Academic Block I, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow Campus on 28th February 2024. The function was graced with honourable dignitaries from the campus including Wg. Cdr. (Dr.) Anil Kumar (Retd), Deputy PRO VC & Director ASET; Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh K Tiwari, Dean Academics, Director Outcome, SPOC – SWAYAM- NPTEL, Prof. (Dr.) S. P. Singh; and Dr. Zeeshan Fatima representing Prof. (Dr.) Anuradha Mishra, Director-Amity Institute of Pharmacy, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow Campus.

The students of AIP performed a skit comparing “FAST FOOD WITH INDIGENOUS CUISINE”, highlighting the health effects of fast food and millets. Further Science Quiz Competition, Science Exhibition, War of Words, and Poster Competition were also organized to let students from different departments of the university to display their scientific abilities. Dr. Vineet Awasthi and Dr. Prachi Srivastava from Amity Institute of Biotechnology, AUUP, Lucknow Campus along with Dr. Narahari Narayan Palei from Amity Institute of Pharmacy, AUUP, Lucknow were invited to judge these events. Winner of the Quiz competition was Shivanshi Chauhan, Harsh Mangla, Rajat Tripathi, Kinjal and Vaishnavi Kaushal, whereas S Fatima Sadiya won the War of Words, with Ananya Shrivastava as the runner-up. Adarsh Dev won the poster competition, with Yashika Chaturvedi as the runner-up. Avinash Kumar, Shantanu Kumar, and Deepa Singh were the winners of the Scientific Exhibition. The winners were honoured with certificates and medals on stage.
