First ever IEEE Conference in London by an Asian University

Amity University, under the dynamic leadership of visionary Founder President Dr. Ashok K Chauhan and Chancellor Dr. Atul Chauhan, touched another milestone and created history by becoming the only University in Asia to organize IEEE Conference at London. Amity – IEEE International Conference, led by Group Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Gurinder Singh was organised from 23rd – 26th April 2019 in London with focus on the theme “Automation, Computational & Technology Management”.
Amity, an innovation and research driven education group, now offers over 300 programs to 170,000 students spread across 9 Universities and 150 institutions. The University is listed in the United Nation’s list of Global Universities and has been ‘A’ graded by NAAC - National Accreditation and Assessment Council – the apex and autonomous body of evaluating Indian Universities. The globally renowned QS World University Ranking has also recently ranked us amongst the top Universities in Asia and specially recognized its efforts of Internationalization.
The highlight of the historical event was the pre-conference dinner at Hotel Radisson, Bloomsbury, wherein who’s who of academia, industry, bureaucracy, diplomatic circles & members of UK Asian Business Council participated and shared their success stories. The Research Conference commenced on 24th April 2019 at Central London with a Keynote Address by Prof. Mike Hinchey, Chair IEEE (UK and Ireland Section). Some of the other speakers included Prof. (Dr.) Gurinder Singh, Group Vice Chancellor, Amity Universities; Dr. Somdutta Singh, Former Vice- chairperson NASSCOM & Founder & Director of Unspun Group, India; Dr. J. Mark Munoz, Professor of Management and International Business, Millikin University, Illinios, USA; Prof. Zeev Zalevsky, Faculty of Engineering Bar-Ilan University Ramat, Israel; Professor Phil Webb FIET, Head of Centre for Structures, Cranfield University, United Kingdom; Ms. Rashmi Dravid, University of Northampton, United Kingdom and Dr. Mona Ghassemian, Senior Researcher at British Telecom & IEEE (UK and Ireland) Vice Chair amongst others.
The technical talks were followed by research paper presentation by researchers from all over the world. Amity received more than 350 research paper for the conference out of which 117 good quality research papers were presented during the conference. They were divided into 9 tracks of different domains. Researchers from Iran, South Africa, Hungary, Ireland, Bangladesh, Romania, USA, United Kingdom, Nigeria, Spain, Egypt, Canada, Dubai & India presented their research papers and took part on active deliberations that were held with an aim to have logical outcomes including publication of the research findings in IEEE Explore for open benefit of all seeking to enhance their knowledge and apply it for benefit of their organizations, the economy, society and world at large.
The success of the first conference was due to the synergistic involvement of all stakeholders and the next edition of this annual event was announced to be held in London from 29th April – 1st May 2020.
