The department has many faculties working at the forefront of simulation techniques from several groups. Faculty from this group have led for decades in the simulation of complex transport processes, starting with turbulent fluid mechanics, and now ranging from fuel cell chemistry and biomedical devices to high-speed aircraft. Some group members focus on mathematical modeling and machine learning, applied to networked systems in biology and medicine. Current projects include development of algorithms and software for both simulation and inference of two-phase flow, cooling of electronic systems, blood flow simulation, uses of machine learning applied to medical data to improve the care of trauma patients, mathematical modeling of brain processes in migraine, unraveling neural communication in learning, inference of network structure of communities of neurons, and mathematical modeling of the process of cell polarization.

Amity Engineering Materials research group is continuously exploring and working on the recent developments in the field of Engineering Materials. It includes the theoretical and experimental processing of advanced materials and composites. All the developed materials are being subjected to large scale characterization starting from Structural (XRD, SEM, EDS) to Mechanical (Hardness, Tensile Strength, Impact Test). Apart from that functional characterization is also been carried out. This team is regularly developing all advanced materials and composites via differently processing methods like Hand lay-up, Vacuum Bagging, Closed Mould, Stir Casting, Powder Metallurgy, E-Cap. All these processing has been carried out in Amity University Campus. This group is working to comprehend the structure of a material, how that structure determines its characteristics and how it subsequently works in technological applications. The team is presently focused on the below mentioned objectives which has got potential applications in Engineering:

  • Potential Application of Natural Fibers for development of Polymer Based Composite Materials.
  • Synthesis of Bio-Resins to develop the polymer composites.
  • Physical and Functional Characterization of developed natural fiber-based polymer composites.

Right from the time the wheel was developed, all the things that man has produced has a justification behind it. Almost all the manufactured items that we see everywhere have an engineering design part in it. The key purpose of Amity engineering design and analysis research group is to apply scientific knowledge to the solution of technical industrial problems. While engineers provide a technical solution, it is very important to understand that engineering design implies a solution that is aesthetic as well. In other words, designers too are involved to ensure that the end product is economical & eco-friendly. The tools and facility available in Amity University, Noida related to Computer Aided Design/ Computer Aided Manufacturing software’s are MATLAB, ANSYS, AUTO CAD, SOLID WORKS, 3D Printer, plasma coating technology. The research going by the Engineering Design and Analysis Research Group team are:

  • Design and fabrication of E-Glass based composite materials for Automobiles.
  • Design and fabrication of wear resistive surfaces by plasma sputtering techniques.
