A Workshop on Advanced Pedagogies organized by Academic Staff College on 30th October to 22nd November, 2023
Academic Staff College, Amity University Gurugram and the Association of Indian Universities collaborated on a workshop titled "Advanced Pedagogies: Introduction to Blended Learning with LMS,” from 30th October to 22nd November, 2023. The event was been coordinated by Prof Sanjna Vij, Dy Director Academic Staff College and Dr Karamjit Kaur, Associate Professor, ASET. The event aimed to redefine the future of education by educating the participants about the newest teaching methods.
The workshop, inaugurated by Guest of Honor Dr. (Mrs.) Pankaj Mittal, explored cutting-edge strategies and technologies for creating engaging learning experiences. Dr. Mittal emphasized the evolving landscape of higher education, stressing the pivotal role of technology in providing a richer educational experience. Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, Prof PB Sharma, highlighted the transformative role of technology, particularly in advanced pedagogies and blended learning. Hon'ble Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof. Madhukar and Dr. Amarendra Pani underscored the power of digital tools and the importance of a research-driven approach to pedagogy. The technical sessions, led by Dr. Karamjit Kaur, Dr. Nisha Charaya, Dr. Anil Kumar, and Mr. Akshat Aggrawal, provided hands-on training on Learning Management Systems (LMS). Participants learned to activate courses, enroll students, create assignments, chats, forums and quizzes. A total of 19 faculty members participated in the event.
In conclusion, the workshop successfully covered essential aspects of blended learning with LMS, empowering participants with advanced pedagogical strategies and a comprehensive understanding of LMS functionalities. The active engagement and commitment of attendees showcased a readiness to implement the learned techniques in their academic environments.
