Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Sharma brings over 43 years of rich experience in teaching and research in the fields of Plant Sciences, Biotechnology, and Bioinformatics. Before joining Amity University Rajasthan, he served at IIT Roorkee and later at Banasthali Vidyapith.
With an impressive academic record, Prof. Sharma has an h-index of 46, an i10-index of 174, and around 8,000 citations. He has published 439 research papers, authored nine books, and has been a guest editor for thematic issues of prestigious international journals on three occasions. He has successfully guided 80 Ph.D. scholars.

He has led multiple research projects funded by reputed agencies, including DST, DBT, ICAR, UGC, DRDO (India), JSPS (Japan), and DAAD (Germany). In addition to his distinguished research and academic profile, he has served in significant administrative roles including Department Chair and Dean.
