Amity Institute of Biotechnology, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow Campus organized a Webinar on June 24th , 2020 from 10:00 AM to 01:30 PM on “Clinical and Pharma Response to the Covid-19 Pandemic” for all AIB faculty and HOIs/HODs. The session was open for other stream faculty members also.
The Webinar was inaugurated with welcome address by Prof (Dr) Janmejai Kumar Srivastava, Director, AIBL. Dr Chandra Deb started her session by introducing the concepts of drug discovery from the basics. She introduced the concept of disruptive innovation and explained it with the analogy of Kodak camera, Digital camera and iPhone camera. Dr Deb categorically explained the steps of preclinical trials in the path of drug discovery and the role of chemists and biologists in the process. The responsibilities of Food and Drug Association in protecting the public health by ensuring safety, efficacy and security of human and veterinary drugs. Dr Chandra then emphasized the role of artificial intelligence and machine learning in the field of drug discovery. She discussed a few case studies related to Covid-19. The session was followed by interactions from students, research scholars and faculties.
The session was attended by the students of AIB, Research scholars and faculty members from Amity University Lucknow Campus as well as Noida Campus participated in the event. Registration link was created for the event and the feedback link was also generated which was shared after the sessions. The whole session is recorded and can be made available. Certificates were given to the participants who attended the session.
