Event Details: Amity University Lucknow campus has established Unnati Community Service club to conduct various extension activities. “Daan Utsav” is one such activity that is celebrated all over India as “festival of giving” from 2 Oct to 8 Oct every year. The purpose of this event is to organize some activities that bring joy in the life of under privileged people. The event has been conducted in Amity for the last 6 years.
Event Agenda:. The objective of the event was to sensitize students to respond constructively to disparity and injustice in modern society. Such activities inculcate socially desirable values such as empathy and co-operation and nurture the desire of the young students to serve the needy. Engaging students in such activities gives them the opportunity to become active members of their community and has a lasting, positive impact on society at large. Community service or volunteerism enables students to acquire life skills and knowledge, as well as provide a service to those who need it most.
