Centre of Excellence at Amity Business School (ABS) concentrate on existing capacity and resources to enable researchers to collaborate across disciplines and institutions to put research and innovation as the main areas of focus. Faculty members of Amity Business School across various functional areas are actively engaged in research on a number of subjects closely aligned with their areas of teaching, training and consulting.
Two such interdisciplinary centres that have been established at ABS are Amity Centre for Financial Analytics and Amity Centre for BRICS Studies. These centres promote multi-disciplinary academic as well as practice-oriented research and encourage the formation of strong research groups to help recognizing true excellence in research and having high impact on various stakeholders.
Centre for Financial Analytics
The Centre for Financial Analytics promotes academic excellence having focus on imparting practical exposure of global financial environment and equipping students with hands-on experience of behavior of financial market through analytics and computational finance. The Centre also equips students to face real global financial environment to perform a theoretical and empirical analysis of trends of financial markets. The centre is committed to impart knowledge about relationship between finance and economic performance and financial policies. The Centre has been making a steady progress in terms of organizing workshops, seminars and publishing a quarterly newsletter and live telecast of budget sessions and many other similar events.
Centre for BRICS Studies
The Centre for BRICS Studies has been operating efficiently at Amity Business School, Amity University Haryana, Gurugram since February 2011. The centre was created to promote research and understand the importance of trade between BRICS nations. The centre focuses on economic, social and political aspects of emerging economies of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. The Centre has been able to deliver what it promised in the form of organizing talk shows, discussion forums, seminars, guest lectures, publication of bi annual newsletter and other important activities.
The activities under Amity Centre for BRICS Studies focus on promoting high-end research, creation and dissemination of knowledge among students about BRICS countries. It also focuses on encouraging actions aiming at fostering cooperation and information exchange among research institutions and think tanks within BRICS. In this regard, activities like publication of bi-annual Newsletter, signing of MoUs with other universities of BRICS countries, organizing seminars and talk shows are some of the academic focus areas.
