 Amity University Madhya Pradesh, Gwalior celebrated the 73rd Republic Day as Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav of our country on 26 January 2022

Amity University Madhya Pradesh, Gwalior celebrated the 73rd Republic Day as Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav of our country with great zeal and patriotic fervour on 26 January, 2022 in online mode.
The festivities of the day commenced with the hoisting of the Tricolour by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor AUMP, Lt. Gen. V. K. Sharma AVSM (Retd.) to the tune of the National Anthem in online mode.
The occasion was graced by the presence of Hon’ble Pro VC, Hon’ble Deputy Pro VC, Registrar distinguished guests of RBEF, Deans, HoIs, HoDs, faculty, staff members and students of AUMP.
Speaking on the occasion, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Lt. Gen. V.K. Sharma lauded the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters in order to set India free and how the armed forces of the country continue to defend the nation from external aggression and internal strife. The Hon’ble VC enlightened everyone about the National War Memorial. He informed that the Memorial has four concentric circles and a central obelisk, at the bottom of which burns an 'eternal flame' representing the immortal soldier (Amar Jawan).The concentric circles are designed as a Chakravyuh, an ancient Indian war formation as Amar Chakra (Circle of Immortality), Veerta Chakra (Circle of Bravery), Tyag Chakra (Circle of Sacrifice), Rakshak Chakra (Circle of Protection). He also emphasized, that each faculty & staff member has to be very sincere towards his/her duties as well as all the students must work hard in their studies. The Hon’ble VC spoke of the importance of research and innovation and thus, motivated everyone to contribute by their efforts.
To mark the day, NCC cadets paraded ceremonially as a token of their zeal and dedication towards nation .
On this occasion, under the celebration of Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav various students of AUMP shoed their talent through performances of songs, dance and group dance through video in online mode. Following the same, National War Memorial video was shared . Students of AUMP also displayed their Craft projects/models in order to emphasize the concept of ‘Waste to Best’ and ‘Waste to Wealth’ and thus showing their creativity.
The event was attended by more than 1000 participants and held on Zoom platform.
