Pointwise Outcome Report:
1.              A one-day International Conference on ‘Gender and Politics in Media and Literature’ was organised by the Amity School of Social Sciences and the Amity School of Communication on 10th February 2023.
2.              The event was convened by:
A . Prof. (Dr) Iti Roychowdhury, Director, Amity Institute of Social Sciences, ASCENT and ASL, and Dy. Dean Student Welfare and Campus Life, AUMP
Key-note speaker/speakers were invited to the event. They gave extensive lectures on Gender inequality and biases in the 21st century and the related issues as well as their impact on the development of the country. The depiction of a coy and submissive woman in Literature and Media has gained tremendous academic attention over the past few years. Media refers to anything that is used to reach out to people and Literature also is a mirror of society, hence the women’s depiction is not a promising one. The third gender and the discrimination that needs to be dealt with consideration were deliberated upon.

3.              The conference received congratulatory messages from Sh.Anurag Singh Thakur, Minister, Information and Broadcasting and Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India and Sh.Mangubhai Patel, Governor of Madhya Pradesh.
4.              A hybrid mode conference was organised using the Zoom platform and was attended by more than 500 students from AUMP participants. The event was also attended by the Higher officials and faculty members of the University.
5.              To commemorate the event the edited book of the Conference was released, and mementoes were presented to the key-note speakers.
6.              Mobile Application – Amity Quality Journal Checker was launched on this occasion. This innovative research initiative is the brainchild of Prof.Sumit Narula, which will aim at detecting fake journals and publications and will be a milestone in the field of research and publication.
7.              Introductory remarks were presented by the Hon’ble Pro Vice-Chancellor Dr. (Prof) M P Kaushik, and the vote of thanks was proposed by Prof. (Dr) Sumit Narula.
8.              The event was honoured with the presence of the Hon’ble Pro-Vice-Chancellor, higher dignitaries, and faculty members.
9.              Valedictory Session was Chaired by Dr. (Prof) Charu Chitra. She brought to the listener’s notice why women remain on a lower platform for centuries, how human bodies are objectified by Media and how readers and media readers should be more vigilant, aware and clever to lighten the impact of it.
10.           Valedictory Report was presented by Prof. (Dr) Iti Roychowdhury. The event came to an end with the giving away of mementoes and a vote of thanks proposed by Dr Sumit Narula, Dy. Dean Research (P&C) and Director, Amity School of Communication, AUMP.
