Amity Institute of Biotechnology (AIB) is a constituent unit of Amity University Mumbai established in the year 2014, with the aim to promote research and development in the broader areas of biosciences and biotechnology. The main focus of training is to create industry ready manpower with high level of skills in biotechnology, food technology, bioinformatics etc.
who can contribute to advancements in biotech research and start-ups in the coming years. Currently AIB has 18 faculty members with distinct achievements and international publications along with research and academic experience from reputed institutes. They have been rigorously selected following the norms of UGC and their expertise range from tissue culture and drug designing to downstream processing/purification and nanotechnology.
Along with a committed teaching curriculum, AIB has facilities for research, supported by state-of-the-art laboratories for plant tissue culture, animal tissue culture, microbiology and industrial incubation research with high end equipment’s to cater the needs of industry. AIB has research and academic collaborations with National and International institutions of eminence in the field of biotechnology, food biotechnology, nanotechnology, nutrition biotechnology etc.
Faculty of AIB has strong industrial collaboration in the field of bioremediation, upstream and downstream processing, protein purification, nanomaterials, drug designing, drug discovery and drug delivery, biofertilizers and pesticides, cancer diagnostics and nanofabric etc. This broad platform of education and training at AIB provides the best opportunities for future biotechnologists.
