The Curriculum

We follow a contemporary course curriculum which is in sync with the needs of the Industry and thus plays a critical role in ensuring student employability. The curriculum is aligned with the career needs of students and is focused on empowering the students with the necessary knowledge and skills to succeed in a dynamic and competitive world.

  • This includes a carefully designed Semester-Based Programme Structure to enable students in inculcating the necessary lifelong learning competencies that are required not just for career development but also personal growth. A systematic and outcome driven evaluation and assessment process ensures that the student’s conceptual learning and developmental progress is consistently monitored.
  • Evaluations are conducted at regular intervals to keep track of the effectiveness of educational policies, provide feedback on the updated curriculum, give inputs for improved learning and teaching practices, enhance the employability of students, keep pace with the technology advancements, and ensure adherence to statutory compliances of various Government and other standard laying agencies.

100% Attendance

100% attendance in all the lectures, tutorials, practicals and seminars is mandatory at Amity University to inspire academic excellence, better disciplines and overall growth of the students. However, in case of eventualities, a moderation of up to a maximum of 25% is granted. Thereby, a student must maintain a minimum attendance of 75% to be able to appear in the examinations.

Curriculum Updation

Continuous updation and innovation in programme curricula is the key to enhance the quality of student learning opportunities and employability. Therefore, Amity University regularly reviews its course curriculum as per the changing needs of the industry. The process of reviewing includes the analysis of feedback reports on the placements, employability of the Amity alumni, keeping pace with the technology advancements, and ensuring adherence to statutory compliances of various bodies etc. This is done by an expert committee which consists of highly experienced leaders from academia and industry. Thereafter, the modified syllabus along with the recommendations is shared with the University Academic Council for approval.

Semester System

Amity University follows a Semester System which allows greater interaction between faculty members & students and lets students stay focussed on studies throughout the year. At Amity, one year Course curriculum is broken down into two semesters i.e., 17-18 weeks each, thus creating more meaningful term papers and research assignments.

Grade System

Amity University has upgraded to Grade system where the level of students' academic performance is represented by letter grades on a Ten Point Scale. Amity University follows Absolute Grading as well as Relative Grading depending upon each student’s performance in a specific programme.

Letter grades (A+, A, A-, B+, B, B-, C+, C, F) have points related with them in quantified hierarchy and have qualitative meaning. As per Semester(s) & overall Semester performances of students, Grade Point Average (SGPA) & Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) are evaluated respectively. Minimum SGPA & CGPA is required to pass a semester/promote to the next semester, and qualify for Degree/Diploma.

Internal Evaluation System

It is our constant endeavour to raise the quality of education by conducting regular examinations and evaluation to assess each student’s academic performance and progress.

As per Amity assessment system, 30% weightage is given to the continuous internal assessment of students. This pre-defined weightage is comprised of Class Test, MCQ Tests, Viva, Case Discussion / Presentation / Analysis, Home Assignment, Project, Seminar, Term Paper, and Attendance among others.
