Amity Institute of International Studies organized a round table panel discussion titled "D-SQUARE: AI and the Global South" on 20 February 2025. Convened by Dr. Shreesh K Pathak and directed by Prof. (Dr.) Nagalaxmi M Raman, the event engaged with the impact of artificial intelligence on emerging economies. The panel brought together students and scholars to discuss technological inequality, digital sovereignty, and policy frameworks that empower the Global South in the AI-driven global order.
A panel discussion titled "India-Africa Relations in Contemporary Times" was held at AIIS featuring diplomats and scholars including H.E. Dr. Anil Sooklal (South Africa), H.E. Ubong Akpan Johnny (Nigeria), Ms. Ruchita Beri, and Mr. Samir Bhattacharya. Moderated by Dr. J.M. Moosa, the session explored diplomatic, economic, and strategic ties between India and African nations. Speakers emphasized shared historical legacies, South-South cooperation, and future trajectories in global governance and mutual development.
Amity Institute of International Studies, in collaboration with the Arts and Humanities division, hosted a panel discussion on "Women in Diplomacy." Chaired by Prof. (Dr.) Nagalaxmi M Raman and co-chaired by Prof. (Dr.) Kavita Indapurkar, the panel included senior diplomats and scholars like Amb. Veena Sikri, Amb. Manju Seth, Dr. Shristi Pukhrem, and Ms. Maya Sherman. The discussion highlighted women’s leadership in international relations and diplomacy, addressing structural barriers and gender-responsive governance.
