Report of the Session- Amity Law School, Amity University Madhya Pradesh had organized a webinar exclusively for the students and faculty of Amity University Gwalior on " Legal and Ethical Issues faced by Start-Ups in India " on 15th May, 2023. The guest speaker for the session was Mr. Mudit Tayal, who lucidly explained that Startups face lot of legal problems as they are in the early stages of development and have limited resources and experience. Even though the Indian government has taken several initiatives to encourage the growth of start-ups in order to promote entrepreneurship and employment by providing easier IPR facilitation, a favorable taxation system and easier compliance for the setting-up company etc., start-ups in India still face numerous challenges of funding, insufficient skill, and a lack of marketing strategies. Over that, startups have obligations to operate in compliance with laws. Failure to respect the laws can give start-ups serious problems such as fines, punishments, revocation of licenses, expenses in litigation, etc. that can adversely affect the limited capital of startups.
