Amity School of Communication (ASCO) Lucknow is one of the leading mass communication institutes across the country where students can find comprehensive programmes in print, broadcast, web journalism, PR, advertising, film and television production.

At ASCO, we strive to establish a learning atmosphere that is conducive to success. We impart training in effective communication and inculcate the consciousness of the surroundings to develop a nose for news in our students so that they can make a difference as media professionals in the future.

We impart both theoretical and practical knowledge to our students, which shapes them into dynamic communication specialists and paves their way in the colossal media industry. The course structure connects easily with the students and exposes them to a culturally rich arena of co-curricular activities besides academics during their stay on campus.

Students are involved in activities and workshops to upgrade their skills training. Industry interaction helps them to get an insight into the current industry trends. Panel discussions, guest lectures and industry visits are all part of academic activities designed for the overall development of the student.

Community education, and outreach projects are carried out from time-to-time in collaboration with non-governmental organisations like Oxfam, SPARC India, UNICEF, Find Your Feet, Aga Khan Foundation, etc. Such alliances enable the students to keep abreast with the field's challenges and issues and instil a sense of responsibility in them. The department holds frequent industry-academia interfaces so that the knowledge and skills of our students match the requirements and standards of the industry, and we send out industry-ready professionals.

Media Studies: Shaping Words and Training Voices for Future

Since the turn of this century, paradigm leaps in communication and information technology have rapidly transformed the business of journalism and the media. Content has jumped off printed newspapers, magazines, and books and is flowing onto electronic screens in digital packets, video, and sound clips. Information and entertainment are now just a few taps and clicks away. Access to news is instantaneous, and we can choose if we want to read it, hear it, watch it, react and interact with it – or do all of these at once.

The 21st century communication industry demands more and more out of its professionals. The academic programmes at ASCO are tailored with this fluid and competitive environment in focus.

Our Outreach

Community education and outreach projects are ASCO’s strength. We work with non-governmental organisations like Oxfam, UNICEF, Water Aid, and several others to keep students in close touch with ground realities in a variety of professions and spheres of life. The department also holds frequent industry-academia interactions to ensure that students know the latest and best practises and methods endorsed by media organisations.

ASCO Lucknow takes pride in running a University Digital Club (UDC), where students have been given the task of maintaining the social media presence of the university on various platforms.

Our Success Stories

Our students are well-placed with renowned brands like Ogilvy (Advertising), AD Factors PR (Public Relations), Hindustan Times (Print Media), Times of India (Print Media), Zee TV (Electronic Media), India News (Electronic Media), to name a few. They are taking key roles in the media industry. Our students are trained to strive for success and are encouraged to evolve with every new role they undertake.
