OUTCOME REPORT
Of
Webinar on “Effective Ways to Arrest Built Up Edge Formation in End Milling of Aluminium Alloys”
Speaker: Dr. Suresh Kannan, SRM University, Channai
6th June 2020
General Introduction
Speaker has delivered a very informative webinar session on Built Up Edge formation in end milling of Aluminium Alloys. Speaker Dr. Suresh Kannan I is an Academician working in SRM Institute of Science & Technology, Chennai. He has completed PhD in mechanical engineering from IIT Madras and published very good research papers in the international journals of repute. Metal cutting is the area of expertise of the speaker.
Session started with the introduction of Built Up Edge and the challenges of metal cutting by manufacturers. Speaker enlightened the participants with his research work he has done to achieve better results. Also the topics of Nanocutting fluids covered in 1hr session. The webinar was conducted on 6th June 2020 with 46 participants from all over India.
Objective of the Event
- Analyzing the various metal working fluids and its impact on metal cutting.
- Different methods to overcome this formation.
- To realize its adverse effects on tool life and workpiece.
- To understand the Built Up Edge formation in metal cutting.
