Department of Mechanical Engineering, ASET has organized a webinar on “Fault Diagnosis of Mechanical Systems using Machine Learning” on 1st Dec 2021 at 11am. The expert for the webinar is Dr. Sugumaran V, Professor, School of Mechanical Engineering, VIT Chennai. Organizer of the webinar is Mr. Shivaji Sagar, Department Coordinator, Mechanical Engineering. Dr. Satheesh Abhimannan has delivered the welcome address at the beginning of the session. A total of 47 participants has attended the webinar.
Dr. Sugumaran’s research is focussed on using machine learning in diagnosing mechanical systems such as bearings in automobiles. The speaker has explained the importance of machine learning in industries with good examples. Machine learning uses statistical methods to allow machines to improve with experience. The webinar was followed by the Q&A session for the participants, speaker has clarified the doubts of participants with good examples.
