One Week Faculty Development Program On “Innovations In Andragogy for Higher Educational Institutions"

The one-week faculty development programme (FDP) on Innovations in Andragogy for Higher Educational Institutions in Online mode was conducted by Amity Business School, Amity University Madhya Pradesh from June 4th, 2024 to June 10th, 2024. 

Innovations in andragogy, the practice of teaching adult learners, are transforming higher educational institutions by addressing diverse learning preferences, technological advancements, and workforce demands. Blended learning and flipped classrooms offer flexibility, while personalized learning paths and competency-based education cater to individual needs and prior experiences. Collaborative and social learning emphasize peer interaction, supported by mentorship and coaching programs. Digital badges, micro-credentials, and advanced learning management systems enhance recognition and engagement. Inclusive education principles and lifelong learning opportunities ensure accessibility and relevance, collectively enhancing the educational experience for adult learners.
This FDP was specifically designed for the faculties and research scholars to provide them insights about innovative teaching methodologies through the integration of technology, personalized learning, and practical applications. More than 50 faculty members, research scholars across India registered for the workshop.
 
The objective of a faculty development program on innovations in andragogy for higher educational institutions is to equip educators with the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to effectively implement modern teaching practices tailored for adult learners. . By participating in this program, faculty members will be empowered to create more dynamic, effective, and accessible educational experiences, ultimately improving student outcomes and satisfaction

Day 1 (4/06/2024)
Inaugural & Session 1
The FDP started on June 4th, 2024. Prof. (Dr) Anil Vashisht, (Hon’ble Offg. Vice Chancellor, Pro. VC, Amity University Madhya Pradesh) gave best wishes for the upcoming sessions of the FDP and congratulated the organisers. The student Coordinators Mr Yogesh and Ms Ananyaa Gupta welcomed the guests and the participants, briefed the schedule and introduced the resource persons. 
Session I
Topic: Teaching Learning process in Ancient times/Vedic Era and Indian Knowledge System (IKS).
Content: Insights from Gurukul system of education, Vedas and Scriptures, Physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.

Session II
Topic: Teaching in modern times and Innovations in Andragogy.
Content: Technology Integration, Blended Learning, Personalized Learning, Focus on Mastery, Competency-Based Education, Experiential and Active Learning , Collaborative Learning with Real-World Applications.

Session III
Topic: Tools and Techniques for Andragogy and engaging the learners.
Content: AboutLearning Management Systems (LMS),  Simulation and Virtual Reality (VR) Tools, Adaptive Learning Technologies , Collaborative Tools , Multimedia Resources etc.

Session IV
Topic: E-Learning, Digital Learning, Metaverse and the Role of Technology in Higher Education.
Content: Session on Integrating artificial intelligence in teaching practices, including online courses, virtual classrooms, and digital collaboration, Enhanced Engagement, Multimodal Learning, global learning community With data driven insights .

Feedback and Valedictory Session
The organizers thanked all the participants for their active involvement throughout the workshop. They congratulated all the participants for successful completion and wonderful sessions. The valuable feedback was shared by the research scholars and faculties of different streams participated during the one-week FDP.  
The vote of thanks was given by Student FDP Co-ordinators, Mr Yogesh and Ms. Ananyaa Gupta. They highlighted the immense contribution of the Organizing Committee members and experts. Dr Rajiv Dwivedi and Dr Vivek Gupta presented a special thanks to Prof. (Dr) Anil Vashisht, (Hon’ble Offg. Vice Chancellor, Pro. VC, Amity University Madhya Pradesh) for his Guidance, Motivation and Direction. They also thanked all the participants who made this event a grand success by participating wholeheartedly.
