The cultural clubs in Amity University, Chhattisgarh, impart training to hone professional and leadership skills through various extra-curricular activities. The overwhelming appreciation and support from the students and faculty inspired cultural clubs to organize meaningful activities to harness potential of students.

The cultural activities are based on hands-on activities that help in improving intellectual, professional and communication skills of students. Backed by rich experience of experiential learning and excellent communication skills through club activities, students look forward to forge relations during corporate interactions and meetings.

The extra-curricular activities provide a supportive and interdisciplinary learning to students to develop communication and leadership skills and boost confidence and personal growth. The university has Anveshan (Technical Club, Abhilekh (Literary Club), Shishtata (Cultural Club) and Cardinals (Sports Club) under Anuvanshiki Society of Amity Institute of Biotechnology.

Established on 2nd March 2017, Anuvanshiki, the Biotech society of Amity Institute of Biotechnology (AIB), actively supports honing students’ skills through curricular, extracurricular and cultural activities. The society conducts a wide range of technical, sports, literary and cultural activities for the overall development of students.

There are four clubs operating under the umbrella of Anuvanshiki society namely -

  • Anveshan – Technical Club
  • Abhilekh – Literary Cub
  • Shishtta – Cultural Club
  • Cardinals – Sports Club

The activities of these four clubs are regulated by a student committee, which is selected annually by the AIB students. All activities are organised under the supervision of designated faculty.

Anveshan Club

Anveshan Club inspire students and faculty members to pursue Science beyond books and classrooms. It provides a platform to students to facilitate open dialogue between Science departments and Management and Humanities streams. Recognising the significance of interdisciplinary research, Anveshan Club regularly organizes discussions, workshop, seminars and conferences of interdisciplinary nature to widen horizons of students.

Cardinals Club

Cardinals Club members learn the team spirit, discipline and fitness through various sports activities. The university provides facilities for a wide range of sports both indoor and outdoor games. In its bid to contribute towards nation-building through education and sports initiatives, Amity University has been promoting sports talent, events and enterprise for consistent growth. This spirit is in resonance with ‘Khelo India’, national programme for development of sports in the country.

Abhilekh Club

Members of Abhilekh Club organised a creative writing contest titled ‘Meraki’ to motivate fellow students to improve creative skills and articulation. Students regularly take part in scientific debate competitions to upgrade skills, knowledge about the best industrial practices and pertinent issues to equip the audience to take informed decisions. The club activities encourage students to adopt analytical thinking’, read about evolved and refined theories and practices and instill in students qualities of an ideal citizen grounded in humanistic values.

Shishtta Club

Shishtta Club aims to provide a platform to showcase cultural, speech, tradition and literary aspects. The club dwells in literature and poetry to make effective presentations, symposiums, book reading sessions and so on to sensitise students about cultural practices. These activities imbibe a sense of pride into them.

Right Angle

Formed by the Architecture students, the club aimed to improve interaction, coordination, understanding and building team spirit, art and aesthetics. It has vertical group formation, thus having students of all semesters in one group. As many as seven groups have been formed so far namely Nirman, Nirman Shilp, Antarit, Vastu Vidya, Anukriti, Sthapatya and Rachana. Headed by an individual co-ordinator, the club organizes different activities and in-house competitions. These activities impart value education, enhance personality and sensitise students about rich cultural values and heritage of India.  The club provides an opportunity to express creativity and innovation with resources available to students. The club activities entail research work to advance students’ knowledge and skills.
