A Guest Lecture on “Advanced Lecture on Medicinal Chemistry and Drug Discovery” by AIP in collaboration with IIC on 1st June 2026.

A Guest Lecture on “Advanced Lecture on Medicinal Chemistry and Drug Discovery” was organised by AIP in collaboration with IIC on 1st June 2026.  The session sought to familiarize participants with various synthetic strategies, analytical and purification techniques, structure-activity relationship (SAR) studies, small-molecule docking, and lead optimization approaches used in the development of bioactive compounds.

The guest lecture on “Advanced Lecture on Medicinal Chemistry and Drug Discovery” aimed to enhance students’ understanding of modern medicinal chemistry, drug design, and drug discovery processes. It also aimed to sensitize students to problem-solving in synthetic route design, organic transformations, and contemporary challenges in therapeutic agent development, thereby strengthening their research aptitude and industry-relevant knowledge in pharmaceutical sciences.

The guest lecture delivered by Dr. Nirjhar Saha proved to be highly informative and enriching for students and faculty members. Through his extensive expertise in medicinal chemistry and drug discovery, he provided valuable insights into the design and synthesis of bioactive molecules, sustainable synthetic methodologies, SAR analysis, lead optimization, and in-silico drug discovery approaches. The session successfully bridged theoretical concepts with practical applications, enabling participants to gain a deeper understanding of contemporary drug development processes. The interactive discussion and question-and-answer session further enhanced learning by encouraging active participation and critical thinking.
