Research Interests
Plant Secondary metabolism; Medicinal and Aromatic Plants: I study the biosynthetic pathways of formation of essential oil in Cymbopogon flexuosus popularly known as lemongrass. Besides, I study bioactive properties of medicinal and aromatic plant extracts, microbial biotransformation of valuable plant products.
Teaching Interests
I have been in teaching and research for the fourteen years. During this period I have taught several courses to the graduate and post graduate students of Biochemistry, Microbiology and Biotechnology as well biomedical genetics and medical lab technology disciplines. I have taught subjects viz., principles of biochemistry, enzyme technology, molecular biology, recombinant DNA technology and clinical biochemistry. I acquired vast teaching experience in biochemistry and enzymology. I use blend of conventional and modern teaching methods for teaching.
