Research Interests
Dr. Chitranjan Kumar conducted interaction studies of heavy metals (Cd, Cr, Pb) with Ca, Zn, and organic matter in the rhizosphere. He developed cost-effective, sustainable, and eco-friendly soil-water clean-up technologies for phyto-bioremediation. He integrated the applications of hyperaccumulator oilcake, elemental-S, vermicompost, and microbial co-inoculation with Pseudomonas sp, Thiobacillus sp, and Glomus sp for remediating Cd and Zn-contaminated soils. He presented a systematic collection of data on river pollution, its scientific analyses, and its relationship with 6Ps (namely population, poverty, pollution, precipitation, plantation, and periodicity), and suggested the river water restoration measures through the novel interlinked water working groups. He developed a Zinc oxide nanofertilizer as an alternative to ZnSO4, and suggested strategies for long-term integrated nutrient management and C-sequestration in soils. He developed novel and pragmatic approaches for Organic Fertigation Systems for organic farming and established biochemical correlation with C-mineralization under integrated nutrient management system. His top 12 international papers were published in reputed journals, like Ecotoxicology and Environmental Safety-(IF7.127), Land Degradation and Development-(IF4.377), 3-Biotech-(IF2.893), Agronomy Journal-(IF2.650), International Journal of Environmental Science and Technology-(3.519), Environmental Monitoring and Assessment-(IF3.307), International Journal of Phytoremediation-(IF4.00), Bulletin of Environmental Contamination and Toxicology-(2.807) with impact factor ranging 2.650 to 7.129.

Teaching Interests
Presently teaching in Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida since 11th February 2020. Earlier, taught MSc (Ag) students at University of Allahabad, Prayagraj during 2003-07. Taught courses in Agricultural Chemistry, Plant Biochemistry, Soil Fertility, Soil Microbiology and Agro-chemicals at University of Allahabad during 2003-2007, then occasional interactions with M.Sc. (Ag. Chem & Soil Science) and research scholars of the Sheila Dhar Institute of Soil Science, Department of Chemistry, University of Allahabad since 2007, from time-to-time.
Presently teaching Fundamental of Soil Science, Crop Ecology and Agrometeorology, Advances in Soil Fertility Management, Agronomy of Kharif Crops, Modern Concept in Crop Production, to graduate and postgraduate students.
