Experience
Dr. Neha Susan Varghese is a legal academic specialising in criminal law, with a primary research focus on empirical legal research in criminal justice. Her scholarly interests include sentencing policy, theories of punishment, and technology-related crimes, with an emphasis on data-driven and interdisciplinary approaches to criminal law reform.
She completed her B.Com LL.B. from Gujarat National Law University and holds Master’s degrees in Constitutional Law and Criminal Law from the Cochin University of Science and Technology. She earned her Ph.D. on Sentencing Policy, with specific reference to Mandatory Minimum Sentences. She currently teaches courses on the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).
