    At a professional level, Dr. Gautam has worked as an Assistant Professor (Guest) in the Department of Political Science at Shyama Prasad Mukherjee College, University of Delhi. She has also conducted independent research with the Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA), a prominent strategic think tank under the Ministry of External Affairs dedicated exclusively to studying International Relations and Foreign Affairs. The research was published as an Issue Brief entitled “The Politics of Nord Stream" and “The Greco -Turkish dispute over the Aegean Sea.”

  • Research Interests
    Dr. Gautam's research interest focuses on international relations, with a specific emphasis on three domains. First, the human security dimension within the realm of international security. Second, how do states leverage their arms and atoms (nuclear weapons) to achieve their foreign policy goals? Lastly, the relationship between arms control and great power politics. Other areas of interest include international relations theory and its application to concepts like just war, non-proliferation, and how changing ideas about war take hold in global politics.
