Dr. Sheetal Prasad is an Assistant Professor at Amity Law School, Amity University, Noida. She holds a PhD from the Centre for South Asian Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Her doctoral research examined women’s empowerment in India and Bangladesh through a comparative analysis of their socio-economic and political status. Her academic interests lie at the intersection of gender studies, public policy, political economy, and development studies, with a regional focus on South Asia.
She has previously served as a Young Professional at the National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG), Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Government of India, where she contributed to research and capacity-building initiatives on governance reforms and public administration. She has also worked as an Analyst at MicroSave Consulting, engaging in policy research and evaluations related to women’s entrepreneurship, financial inclusion, care economy, and gender-responsive governance in collaboration with government agencies , international institutions and multilateral platforms.
Dr. Prasad has taught political science as Guest Faculty at the University of Delhi and has published in peer-reviewed journals and policy platforms on issues of gender, development, and governance. Her work seeks to bridge rigorous academic inquiry with policy-relevant research aimed at promoting inclusive and equitable development.
