Prof. (Dr.) Meenu Gupta is a distinguished academician and passionate writer with over two decades of dedicated experience in legal education and research. She qualified the UGC-NET examination and earned her Doctorate on “Crime against Women: A Socio-Legal Study” from Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University, Agra. Specializing in criminal law, she is a strong advocate of women’s rights and has consistently worked towards promoting legal awareness and social justice.
Throughout her academic career, she has successfully guided numerous Ph.D. research scholars and LL.M. dissertations across diverse areas of law, with fifteen scholars having been awarded the Ph.D. degree under her supervision. She has played an active role in academic enrichment by serving as a resource person, chairperson, and panellist in various Faculty Development Programmes, seminars, and conferences at both national and international levels.
Dr. Gupta has authored more than seventy-five national and international research publications. Her scholarly contributions include two authored books, Jurisprudential Evolution of Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure Code, and one edited volume on Laws Governing the Media and Entertainment Industry. She has also served as a reviewer and editor for reputed academic journals such as the Amity International Journal of Legal and Multidisciplinary Studies, Excellence International Journal of Education and Research, and Themis.
In recognition of her professional excellence and social commitment, she received the “Lawyer of the Year” award from Lions Club International (2005–06) and the Bharat Nyaya Puruskar 2024 for her outstanding contribution to law, social justice, and nation-building.
