    1. Amity Institute of Biotechnology, Amity University, India, March, 2009 – present
Assistant Professor, Computational and Systems Biology
Responsibility1: I am involved in teaching Bioinformatics core subjects like Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Perl for Biologist, Computational Systems Biology, MATLAB programming for biologist. I also undertake hands-on practical classes for the above subjects. Students undergo interesting systems biology and network biology based short-term projects under my supervision.
Responsibility2: Coordinator – Corporate Resource Centre and Ph.D programmes
AIB-CRC brings together the Pharma-Biotech-Healthcare industry and academia close to each other and provides need based education and organizational support. I am shouldering the responsibility of organizing inviting companies for in-campus interviews for student placement and training. We also organize corporate guests’ lectures and industry interaction. I also take care of the management of Ph.D programmes running at AIB, Noida.
    2. Krupanidhi Degree College, Bangalore, India, October, 2007 – February, 2009
    Lecturer, Biostatistics and Bioinformatics, Biochemistry
Responsibility: Teaching Bioinformatics, Biostatistics and Biochemistry to under-graduate students. Coordinating B.Sc Biotechnology and B.Sc Microbiology courses for under graduate studies.

    Perl for Biologist
  • Research Interests
My research goal is broadly focused on the developments and applications of computational models and tools for predicting and analyzing the behaviors of complex physiological systems ranging over multiple scales of organization from molecular level to the tissue/organ level. The overall goal of this research is to work towards a quantitative understanding of the functioning of the physiological systems under normal and pathological conditions (health and diseases), and guiding engineering-based manipulations of the systems. I have the utmost urge to collaborate with experimental physiologists to develop an integrated research combining computational modeling of cellular functions and experimental measurements in isolated organ systems like mammalian muscles, liver, heart, etc.
The greatest motivation for pursuing further research in systems level study emerged from my fully annotated predictive model designed under the assigned model identifier http://www.ebi.ac.uk/biomodels-main/BIOMD0000000579 accepted and published by EBI BioModels. This model is termed as HEPNet: Human energy Pool Network, which is also my Ph.D thesis work. It is a knowledge base model of human energy pool network for predicting the energy availability status of an individual. Presently, I am taking this research forward by incorporating the integration of high-throughput data. By utilizing the high-throughput data, HEPNet can be tailored further to cell and tissue-specific networks which can lead to contextualization of high-throughput data from pathological and drug-treated states.
  • Teaching Interests
My teaching philosophy is to offer practical skills, train students to think beyond and encourage social responsibility
I am involved in teaching theory and hands-on lab sessions of Bioinformatics core subject of Bioinformatics to B.Tech Bioinformatics and advanced course of Computational Systems Biology at the PG level. I was also actively involved in developing the course structures and curriculum of B.Tech Bioinformatics
